After a career spent largely in education, both at secondary and further levels, Sue became involved in training in 1986, managing a large Youth Training programme.
In 1988 she joined Shropshire County Council firstly managing a national pilot programme called Youth in Management and subsequently becoming an Area Training Manager which involved managing job clubs, youth training and employment training programmes.
Sue subsequently joined a small training company to design and deliver training courses on a full time basis. This involved working for companies such as GEC, ICL, Royal Doulton, Armitage Shanks, Creda and Severn Trent Water.
When her post was made redundant in 1992, Sue took the opportunity to set up her own company. Since then she has developed a reputation for delivering consistently high quality, effective and enjoyable training courses.
Among her qualifications are a Cert. H.E. in Psychological Studies. In 2004 she gained a Diploma in Life Coaching and now offers one-to-one coaching and mentoring to people at all levels in organisations, as well as to private clients. Sue has just completed her second year of study for an MA in Coaching & Mentoring at Wolverhampton University.
Sue is also a qualified bereavement counsellor working with Cruse in Shropshire. She has recently retired from the Management Committees of both Cruse in Shropshire and Shrewsbury Home-Start, having been involved with Home-Start for 21 years.
In 2008 Sue graduated with an MA in Coaching & Mentoring.
In 2000 Derek joined QMC as a partner. Derek has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of management and organisation development. He has worked in the financial sector, in P & O, for Severn Trent and , latterly, for Shropshire County Council . His last post was as Management Development Advisor for the authority.
Derek fulfils the roles of consultant and facilitator for organisations wishing to examine their strategic approach to the management and development of staff. He also works as an executive mentor.
Barbara joined QMC as an associate consultant early in 2002.
Barbara is very highly qualified with a BA (Hons) degree in Social Studies, Diploma in Training Management, Diploma in Management and an MBA.
She has provided training and consultancy services to a large number of local authorities, health trusts, housing associations and voluntary organisations. She has a particular interest in the fields of equality, diversity, cultural change and women’s issues. She also has recent experience in planning, implementing and co-ordinating a mentoring programme for executives and senior managers.
Sue joined QMC in 2006 as Internal Verifier for the ILM programmes. She has 21 years of experience working in Local Government, beginning by working in leisure facilities. For the past 8 years she has worked as a training & development officer, running ILM programmes as well as a wide range of in-house courses.
Sue has gained many qualifications, including Further & Adult Education Teachers Certificate and Workplace Assessors Award.
